POWER+ - I think my WakaWaka Power+ (product code WWP22) is defect, what can I do?

We advise you to frequently use the Power+ to keep the battery active.

Sometimes, when the Power+ has been stored for an extended period or when the Power+ has not been used for a while, the battery can become drained. No worries! This isn’t harmful and can resolved easily by charging the it with a micro-USB through the AC grid once. This gives it an energy boost that normally does the trick! A universal micro-USB charger is the same cable as the one from an Android phone, for example, and can be bought at any electronic shop or phone shop.

We offer two models of the WakaWaka Power+. You can check the model on the sticker on the hinge.

  • Our newest model you could recognize by: S/N (serial number): P02A1GBxxxxxxxxxx

  • Our  older model you could recognize by: WWP22

  • If there’s no sticker, it is probably a WWP22

I can not charge my device completely

The battery of the WakaWaka Power+ has a capacity of 2200 mAh (WWP…) or 3000 mAh (P02A1GBxxxx), this means that devices with a smaller (or equally sized) battery capacity can be fully charged with the Power+. Some high-tech phones have a capacity beyond 2200 or 3000 mAh. A Power+ can charge these devices, but not fully at once.

Please check the capacity of the battery of your device if seems to have trouble charging to 100%.

Beware that it takes a lot of energy from the Power+ to charge the device from 0-20 % and from 80-100%.

My Power+ is not charging any device

Please check if the Power+ is charged enough by pressing the on/off button once. The 4 lights on top indicate the battery status. 4 Green LEDs = 75-100%, 3 green LEDs = 50-75%, 2 green LEDs = 25-50%, 1 green LED = (<)25%. If the battery status shows only one light, it could be that your Power+ doesn’t have enough power to charge your phone.

If your Power+ isn’t charging any device, check if you’ve used a good quality data cable. You could try to use another USB cable and/or device and see what happens.

My Power+ is not charging in the sun

Depending on the weather condition in the region that you live in, it can be more difficult to fully charge the WakaWaka Power+ with the sun. When charging the Power+ it is important that the sun shines directly on the solar panel. So please adjust the position of your device accordingly. When it is not that sunny or when your WakaWaka is behind (double) glazing, the charging efficiency decreases by 70%.

It takes approximately 12-24 hours to fully charge a Power+ with direct sunlight.

If your Power+ isn’t charging with solar power, first check the single light on top of it. This should blink if you place the Power+ with its solar panel towards the sun or hold it under a strong warm lamp.
